Dear friends and supporters, please take the time to read, share, and help if you can.
We have some heartbreaking news that we must share with you. Our veteran, Dan, aka "Uncle Dan the Iron Man", has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and his time is very short. Maggie, the pocket pitbull that he adopted through us, has been moved into the home of one of our foster parents. On Sunday, we took Maggie up to the hospital, so she and Dan could say goodbye.
Dan has 2 requests of us: to find Maggie a perfect and loving new home and to save as many dogs as we can, especially pitbulls, the breed he loves most.
First, here's what Maggie's foster has to say about her: Maggie is young (5ish) and athletic, full of energy and life. She likes to play, do tricks, and go for walks, but she also likes to stay inside and watch tv (she LOVES tv and really watches), join you in your office, or just be by your side. She needs to be the ONLY pet in the home as she does not get along with other animals, but she has the personality of 2 dogs anyway. She knows basic obedience, is crate trained and housebroken. She is well-behaved in the house, is not destructive, and sleeps well in her bed, though she prefers to be in bed with her people. Maggie is confident, very affectionate, outgoing, and curious about life around her. Maggie is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and fill your day with laughs and joy.
We will be seeking a veteran adopter for Maggie. If you know a veteran that might be a good fit, please share this link: https://blackopsrescue.org/apply-for-a-pet and let us know it is Maggie that you are interested in.
If you are able to help us with Dan's second request, to save more dogs, you can donate here: https://blackopsrescue.org/donate
Thank you for taking the time to read and to help if you can.
