Cultivate self compassion.
It won't be easy especially if we learnt from an early age to cultivate a harsh inner critic. It is not about being perfectly compassionate all the time. But the little steps we take and the little things we do to remind ourselves that it's okay we are it's okay to be imperfect, to be messy, to be human. It's okay that we are becoming aware, learning, and healing.
If a person dear to you was going through it, what would you say to them? How would you say it? . If a 5 year old was in pain what would you want them to know?
Listen to, and talk to yourself as you would your 5 old self, with warmth, affection, & patience. Understanding & empathy are what leads to self compassion.
Journaling and loving-kindness meditation can also be helpful tools in the process of developing self-compassion. .
