May theme for @homebarawards is transformation.
So I made a really nice cocktail for them, and I hope @schrammplate will like it.
Traditional tea time is at 4PM,
Socially acceptable drinking time starts at around 5PM ,
Let's meet in the middle with this tea Infused tequila Cocktail .
Spring is the lavender blossom season, but also when we switch from Old Fashioneds, and whiskey sours, to Mojitos and margaritas.
For the transformation theme we have a "Milk washed" Earl Grey Infused tequila ( 2 transformations)
And prickly pear Infused Cointreau.
I wanted to add that unique bergamot citrus, without losing the alluring prickly pear color.
Lavender smoke and Himalayan pink salt provide more dimensions to the experience.
"Milk washed" Earl Grey Infused Tequila (I made a small amount, feel free to double up) :
4 Oz. Dano's Tequila Blanco @danostequila
1 teabag Earl Grey Tea
Add the teabag to the Tequila, let steep for 45 minutes.
Take out the teabag and add 1.5 Oz of lime juice.
In a separate container:
1 Oz. Whole milk @fairlife
Stir the Earl grey Tequila and lime juice, and pour into the milk slowly, the milk will almost immediately curdle, cover and let rest in the fridge overnight.
Strain through a strainer 3-4 times before moving it through a coffee filter. -----
Prickly pear Infused Cointreau @cointreau_us
1 prickly pear
5 Oz. Cointreau
Scoop the interior of the prickly pear, combine with the Cointreau in a container and let sit overnight. Strain.
The prickly pear gives the Cointreau a really nice texture,
While the "milk wash" leave some acidity, and take away some of the ABV from the Tequila, these factors come into consideration when building the cocktail.
Rim the coupe - Himalayan pink salt @atthemeadow
Lavender smoked coupe -
On a heatproof plate, place ¼ spoon dried lavender flowers, blowtorch, and cover the flame with the coupe.
Finally the cocktail :
1.5 Oz. Milk washed Earl Grey Infused Tequila
1 Oz. Prickly pear Infused Cointreau
0.5 Oz. Lime juice
Shake well until cold, fine strain to the rimmed and smoked coupe.
Garnish : lavender.
