Here’s a #transformationtuesday photo from my first month getting it at the gym to right now, back is one of my favorite workouts and one of the toughest ones in my opinion, because you can’t see it so you have to use mind to muscle memory to really focus on it, always remember to stretch and focus on the squeeze at the end, you wanna have time of tension on your back to get the full effect and form, form over everything!! Don’t worry about the weight just worry about the proper posture. They were standing and they had a metronome set so they did 3 seconds a rep. They observed the subject’s trunk muscles and knees to make sure they were cheating on these reps. ⠀ Muscle Activation During the EZ bar curl and the barbell curl, they found that the bicep brachii and brachioradilais muscle had a significantly higher activation than the dumbbell curl. The barbell curl had a slightly lower activation compared to the EZ bar curl but it was not significant. ⠀ Overall The concentric phase of the lift had a greater activation in general while the eccentric phase had a lower activation overall. The EZ bar curl was most effective at activating the bicep brachii and brachioradilis. The reason this may be for the high activation could be due to the almost semisproned grip. ⠀ Eccentric Phase During the EZ curl and barbell curl, the bicep brachii had a higher activation than the dumbbell curl. The brachioradilails was only higher in the EZ bar curl compared to the dumbbell curl. Don’t over think it, just do it and make every second count . . . Challenge yourself to make the best of your time at the gym . Whether that’s trying something new in between sets, or getting in one more rep or pump of what your working on . Every little bit adds up 💪🏼 . . . For me today I challenged myself with L-Sit pull-ups in between sets . I worked a different muscle group (back/core) while waiting on hammies and glutes to recoup. Other days I’m jump roping to get that heart rate up and blood flowing . It just depends on where I feel I need the work . . . Time is limited fam , make the best of it 👊🏼 . . So a common question I’m getting is how to figure out how much you should be eating to lose weight. Here is a simple way to find out. This is an estimate! Nobody knows until you try it out and stick to it long enough to know if you should go higher or lower. Your previous diet history, medical conditions, muscle mass etc. may impact the number among other factors. In my free Macro Guide that I created I give some other ways of finding it out that requires more data. But this is a really good place to start. 9-10 x body weight is aggressive if you are very active , but great for people who sit a lot and are lightly active.
