Today was the day of expectations and influence. My parents had high expectations of me, even paved the path for me and expected nothing less than #1. I've realised today that I've been highly influenced by my parents and made me the man I am today.
Although I haven't met their level of expectations of becoming the "worthy & respected" status as an either an Industrialist/C-Suite/Surgeon/Judge/AG and much more.
However, I've been fortunate to prove to them that I am an independent man whom have created my own path, whom have proven my presence among their "approved" status circle but there is much more to life than a job, the title, whom you surround yourself with and the materialism goes with it.
A job should pay for your needs like meals and fine dining, a car or airfares to travel, a roof over your or fine hotels to stay. But what I value is the 'creation' (outside my job) as a side hustle or making it more than a simple interest, my passion for investmens, building the next legacy for the family business and even my miniscule contribution to the community and the world to build a better future.
I hope my parents will be around when I have my own chef, private jet, own a hotel/property empire but more importantly that they can appreciate my free spirit to explore, my hunger to continously learn and embrace all cultures, religions, endless effort to understand and accept others, giving others the opportunities that they or I never had, to love and to be loved, earn and give respect.
